§ Comparison · honest · no "the best"

aGo vs Squarespace: when each one fits.

Squarespace has the most visually polished templates in the no-code market. For premium showcases with strong aesthetic focus, it often wins. For serious Chilean e-commerce and complex workflows, custom pays the premium.

§ FAQ

Frequently asked questions

If your question isn't here, email us at [email protected] or via WhatsApp.

01 When is Squarespace the right choice?

When aesthetics matter more than technical functionality: artist/photographer portfolio, boutique hotel showcase with visual focus, institutional site with branding focus, restaurant with simple menu and reservations. Squarespace has the most visually polished templates in the no-code market. If your business wins or loses in the first 5 seconds based on how the site looks, and you don't need technical depth, Squarespace wins.

02 When is Squarespace NOT the right choice?

E-commerce with large catalog (more than 500 active SKUs), Chilean payments via Flow or Transbank as main flow, serious multi-language (ES/EN/PT with independent SEO slugs), Law 21.719 compliance with ARCO+ and audit trail, integrations with SII or other Chilean systems. In these cases Squarespace requires workarounds that end up costing more than a custom build.

03 Is migrating from Squarespace to custom difficult?

Content (texts, images, blog posts) exports via XML. Historical SEO: you have to map old URLs to new ones with 301 redirects. Design: does NOT migrate, gets redesigned. Luckily Squarespace's polished aesthetics give you a high baseline: the custom redesign usually preserves the brand feel and improves performance, SEO and flexibility. Typical time: 4-8 weeks.

04 How much does a custom site from aGo cost vs staying in Squarespace?

Squarespace Business: USD 276/year + commerce fees if you sell. Custom aGo: from 80 UF (CLP ~3M) one-time + CLP 240k-600k/year of server infrastructure, paid to the provider, without the management that the continuity step covers. The site's total cost calculator compares both paths with the assumptions you enter. On the custom path, once development is done the recurring spend is hosting plus whatever continuity you hire, and you keep full control. If your site is pure showcase that doesn't sell and will last 3-5 years, Squarespace can come out better. Indicative for a base scope, not an offer. Details at /en/pricing.
