Quick Start

aGo AI Chat adds an intelligent chat widget to your WordPress site. Visitors can ask questions and the AI responds based on your documents — PDFs, text files, CSVs and more.

Installation

  1. Upload ago-ai.zip from Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  2. Activate the plugin
  3. Go to aGo Tools → AI Chatbot

5-Minute Setup

  1. Get a Gemini API Key — Free at aistudio.google.com
  2. Paste the key in Settings → Gemini API Key
  3. Upload a document with your company info (PDF, TXT, etc.)
  4. Enable the chatbot — check "Show AI chat widget on frontend"
  5. Save and visit your site — the chat appears in the bottom corner
Tip: Start with the Flash Lite 2.5 model — it is the most affordable and works perfectly for customer support.

Personality

Response Style is the most impactful setting. "Friendly with emojis" makes the AI feel human and approachable. It uses short paragraphs, natural language and occasional emojis.

Limits

Knowledge Base

The knowledge base is what makes your chatbot intelligent. Upload documents with your company information and the AI will answer visitor questions based on that content.

How It Works

  1. You upload a file (PDF, TXT, CSV, MD, JSON)
  2. The file is sent to Google Gemini's File Search Store
  3. Gemini indexes and vectorizes the content (one-time cost)
  4. When a visitor asks a question, Gemini searches only the relevant fragments
  5. Only those fragments count as input tokens — much more affordable
Cost savings: File Search Store only sends relevant fragments to the AI, not the entire file. This can reduce costs 10-20x compared to sending the full document with every request.

Tips for Better Results

  • Write clear, structured content — headings, bullet points, short paragraphs
  • Include frequently asked questions and their answers
  • Add contact information, pricing and service descriptions
  • Keep files focused — one topic per file works best
  • Update files when your information changes

Chat Widget

The chat widget is a floating button that appears on every page of your site. When clicked, it opens a chat window where visitors can interact with the AI.

Topic Restriction

The AI is configured to only answer questions related to your knowledge files. If someone asks unrelated things (math, programming, general knowledge), it politely redirects toward your services. This prevents misuse and keeps conversations focused.

Lead Capture Premium

When the AI cannot answer a question, it automatically shows a contact form inside the chat. The visitor can leave their name, email and what they need.

How It Triggers

  • The AI cannot find the answer in the knowledge files
  • The visitor asks to speak with a human
  • The visitor requests phone, WhatsApp or email
  • The conversation reaches the maximum iteration limit

Task Management

All captured leads appear in AI Tasks (top-level menu in wp-admin). You can:

  • View details (name, email, message, IP, date)
  • Mark as Contacted or Resolved
  • Filter by status
  • Receive email notifications for new leads

WhatsApp Integration

Enable WhatsApp to show a direct contact button alongside the lead capture form. When clicked, it opens WhatsApp Web or the app with a pre-filled message.

Configuration

  1. Go to Settings → WhatsApp Contact
  2. Check "Show WhatsApp contact link"
  3. Enter your full number with country code: +56912345678
  4. Set a default message: Hello, I need help with...
  5. Save

The green WhatsApp button appears in the lead capture form and after submitting the form, giving visitors two ways to contact you.

License Activation

How to Activate

  1. Purchase a license at store.ago.cl
  2. You will receive a license key via email (format: AGOAI-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
  3. In WordPress, go to aGo Tools → AI Chatbot
  4. Paste the key in the License Key field
  5. Click Activate
  6. You will see: License active (1/3 activations)

How to Deactivate

Click Deactivate next to the license key field. This frees up an activation slot so you can use it on another site.

Move to Another Site

  1. Deactivate on the previous site
  2. Install the plugin on the new site
  3. Activate with the same key
Important: Each license supports up to 3 simultaneous activations. If you reach the limit, deactivate a site before activating another.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Gemini API Key?

Yes. Get one for free at Google AI Studio. You only pay for what you use — Flash Lite models are very affordable.

How much does the Gemini API cost?

It depends on the model and usage. Flash Lite models are the cheapest. Check current rates at ai.google.dev/pricing.

Can visitors chat in any language?

Yes. The AI automatically responds in the same language the visitor writes in.

What happens when a file is uploaded?

The file is sent to Google Gemini's File Search Store, where it is indexed and vectorized. When visitors ask questions, only the relevant fragments are retrieved — much more affordable than sending the full file every time.

How do I update the knowledge base?

Delete the old file and upload the new version. The AI will use the updated content immediately.

Can the AI answer questions outside the documents?

No. The AI is restricted to answering only based on your knowledge files. This prevents misuse and ensures accurate responses.

What happens after 50 chats per day (Free)?

The visitor sees a message: "Daily chat limit reached. Upgrade to Premium for unlimited chats." The limit resets every 24 hours.

Is my API key secure?

Yes. The key is stored encrypted in the WordPress database and is never exposed in the frontend HTML or JavaScript.

Can I use this on multiple sites?

Free: 1 site. Premium: up to 3 sites with the same license key. You can deactivate and reactivate on different sites.
